Health Promoting Theatre Productions
The use of theatre in promoting health, sometimes referred to as ‘Edutainment’, is a powerful agent for change. It has the potential to remove some of the barriers associated with traditional approaches to promoting health, such as illiteracy. It is also effective in addressing sensitive and taboo issues, in providing opportunities for vicarious learning (ie. through observation and hearing) and in fostering emotional engagement with the audience.
We produce health promoting theatre productions across a range of health issues using comedy and music to engage with audiences.
Men’s Comedy Health Check®
A theatre production to raise awareness about prostate cancer, which affects Black men disproportionately. The production targets Black African/African-Caribbean men aged 40+ using comedy as a vehicle to promote health.
